Children’s Dental Checkups & Cleanings

During these visits, our team will carefully perform a detailed examination of your child’s teeth, gums, and other oral structures. Taking dental X-rays is also a normal and perfectly safe part of this process. By checking your child’s smile from top to bottom, we’ll be able to detect hidden issues before they worsen, while also charting their dental development and planning for the future. These visits also include a cleaning portion, which involves removing any built-up plaque and tartar from your child’s teeth and administering a fluoride treatment to strengthen their enamel.

Dental Sealants

Protecting teeth against decay-causing bacteria can be a difficult task for children who are just learning to brush and floss. That’s why our office offers dental sealants. These thin layers are usually applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth, and they act as a barrier that minimizes the risk of bacteria forming and causing cavities. Sealants can save you money on fillings in the future, and we can also place them on adults if needed.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

If your child frequently plays outdoor games or participates in sports, the last thing you want is to be worried about their smile. Thankfully, a customized mouthguard (also known as a sportsguard) from our team can provide them with the protection they need to play their very best. Studies have even shown that wearing a mouthguard can reduce the severity of concussions while also preventing issues like displaced or fractured teeth.

Pulp Treatment

Pulp treatment helps preserve a child’s natural tooth after the inner tissue, known as the pulp, has become severely damaged or decayed. During this gentle procedure, our team will remove the infected pulp, clean the area, and seal the tooth to prevent future problems. This treatment relieves discomfort, supports future dental development, and maintains proper spacing for the future adult teeth. Rest assured, your child’s mouth will be numbed for this, and we can use sedation dentistry to ensure they’re perfectly comfortable.
